About Dr. Bagambhrini Thompkins

Hello, I'm glad you found me and hope I can be helpful to you in some way.

My job here is not to make judgements or impose my own opinions about another's path, but to hold space for them and to provide encouragement and tools to help allow them to reach their own wellness goals--whether those be physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, or educational.

In my medical practice, I provide care for children and adults of all ages, from newborn to hospice and everything in between. Throughout my career my goal has always been to collect tools and information that can be useful to someone on their path. It's not for me to choose what is useful to you--only to see and hear you fully and offer what I have that might be useful to you. Many of my patients employ me exclusively for my allopathic medical training. You get to choose what is right for you. I am always open to incorporating Ayurvedic medicine, spiritual tools and mystic perspectives into patient’s care plans if they desire that approach. I’m interested in providing care for patients with different abilities, communication styles, and neurodivergence.

I was born and raised in a small town in south-eastern Iowa, Fairfield, within the Transcendental Meditation movement which is founded on principles of the Vedic literature including the ancient system of wellness known as Ayurveda--which I have been practicing for over 30 years. As a teen I moved with my family to Tucson and graduated from Tucson High Magnet school. I worked at Nadine’s Kosher Bakery and spent most Saturdays nights at the Rocky Horror Picture Show. I received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Neuroscience and Cognitive Science with a minor in Fine Arts and Music as well as Medical Doctorate from the University of Arizona followed by Family Medicine Residency at Milton S Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, PA.

I have worked as a full-spectrum family medicine physician within the federally qualified health system in Arizona and New Mexico since 2021. Within that position I provided care for babies and children, young adults, preventative care for men and women, chronic medical conditions, mental health conditions, addiction, and care of the dying. As a community preceptor, adjunct faculty to US accredited medical schools and ACGME residency programs, I taught medical students and family medicine residents through lectures, small group sessions, direct mentorship, clinical and procedural precepting. Shaping the next generation of physicians is central to my purpose as a physician and I am always happy to take on learners for shadowing and clinical rotations in support of their educational and career goals.

I am grateful in my life God continues to expand my perspective and understanding of the spiritual nature of my purpose which is to care for and serve others.
